Cambodia Wins 20 ASEAN Tourism Awards
AKP Phnom Penh, January 24, 2025 -- Cambodia won 20 awards of different categories including 5 ASEAN Green Hotel Award, 5 ASEAN Homestay Awards, 5 ASEAN Public Toilet Award, and 5 ASEAN Spa Service Standard Awards, at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (AFT 2025) held in Malaysia early this week.
The awards were presented at the ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards Ceremony with the participation of H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, and his ASEAN counterparts as well as the private sector in the tourism sector, according to the ministry’s press release.
H.E. Huot Hak led a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism to attend the ATF 2025 in Johor, Malaysia from Jan. 17 to 21, under the theme "Unity in Motion - Shaping ASEAN's Tourism Tomorrow".
The Forum was attended by Ministers and Leaders of Tourism from the ASEAN member states, ASEAN Plus Three (China, Japan, and Republic of Korea), India and Russia, as well as observer country such as Timor-Leste and several partner organisations.
In addition to the aforementioned meetings, the Ministry of Tourism also led Cambodian private sector representatives and tourism operators to participate in the ASEAN Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) international tourism exhibition, featuring 176 exposition booths, 221 sellers, 332 buyers, and 106 media from 41 countries.
