Cambodia, Canada Discuss Bilateral Trade Relations
AKP Phnom Penh, March 27, 2026 -- H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, met with H.E. Maninder Sidhu, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, on Thursday in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral trade relations between the two countries, as well as the ongoing negotiations for the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACAFTA). They expressed optimism that these negotiations will be concluded by the end of 2026.
Both ministers also exchanged views on the expected outcomes of the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC14), specifically focusing on e-commerce, WTO reform, and trade and development.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul is currently in Yaoundé to attend the WTO MC14, officially opened on Mar. 26.
In addition to the bilateral talks, the Minister participated in and delivered welcome remarks at the high-level launch of the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) Phase Three.
Cambodia co-hosted this event alongside the United Arab Emirates and the EIF Executive Secretariat.
