A Delegation of Diplomatic Corps and UN Agencies Visit Border Area
AKP Phnom Penh, March 27, 2026 --
Members of diplomatic corps and representatives of United Nations agencies and international organisations accredited to Cambodia conducted a field visit to a border area illegally occupied by Thai armed forces in Pursat province on Mar. 27.
The delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The border area, where Thai forces have also blocked off with containers and barbed wire, is located in Thmar Da commune, Veal Veng district.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister and the delegation also visited and delivered food and essential supplies to the displaced persons, a total of 76 families, currently staying at the makeshift shelter at Hun Sen Promaoy High School, located in Promaoy village, Promaoy commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province.
During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister also affirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia remains firmly committed to resolving all border issues peacefully, in accordance with international law and relevant bilateral agreements, while strictly adhering to the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) of Dec. 27, 2025.
