Cambodian Ambassador-Designate to Australia Holds Talks with DFAT to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

H.E. NOM Piseth, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Australia and New Zealand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Michelle Chan, Deputy Secretary for the South and Southeast Asia Group at Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), in Canberra on April 1.
According to the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to Australia and New Zealand, H.E. NOM Piseth was accompanied by Mr. LIM Sambath, Counsellor, and Mr. SAM Vathnak, Second Secretary of the Embassy.
During the meeting, both sides highly valued the positive progress of the long-standing relations between Cambodia and Australia. They also exchanged views on ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in promoting trade and investment, as well as the establishment of direct flights between the two nations.
On the occasion, H.E. NOM Piseth briefed H.E. Michelle Chan on the recent developments concerning the Cambodia-Thailand border situation.
The Ambassador-designate also presented a copy of his Letter of Credence to the Deputy Secretary.
