Cambodia Earns Over US$327 Million from Rice Exports in First Five Months
AKP Phnom Penh, June 05, 2026 -- Cambodia exported 568,912 tonnes of milled rice to 63 destinations during the first five months of 2026, generating more than US$327.43 million, according to a report released on June 5 by the Cambodia Rice Federation.
The Kingdom shipped 154,254 tonnes of milled rice worth more than US$105 million to 31 European countries; 162,125 tonnes valued at US$94.92 million to China and its autonomous regions; and 208,593 tonnes worth US$87.32 million to five ASEAN member states.
At the same time, an additional 43,940 tonnes, valued at US$40.07 million, were exported to 24 other markets, including Africa and the Middle East.
Fragrant rice remained the leading export product, accounting for 59.20 percent of total milled rice exports, followed by white rice (22.28 percent).
Organic rice accounted for 1.04 percent, parboiled rice 1.72 percent, broken rice 15.58 percent, and other rice varieties 0.18 percent.
In addition, Cambodia exported more than 2.75 million tonnes of paddy rice during the same five-month period, generating estimated revenues of US$591.41 million.
In 2025, Cambodia and China signed a new agreement to increase Cambodia’s milled rice export quota to China to 500,000 tonnes, representing a 25 percent increase from the previous quota of 400,000 tonnes.
