AKP Phnom Penh, August 6, 2026 --  Approximately 5,000 observers will be deployed to monitor Cambodia's 2026 Upper Secondary School Examination (Baccalaureate), scheduled for Aug. 10-11, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron said on Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference on the upcoming national examination, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron said the Ministry has begun technical meetings to prepare for the exam across all 25 capital and provincial administrations. The observers will include representatives from the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), local authorities and volunteers.

H.E. Minister said the participation of these stakeholders will help ensure a transparent and successful examination process, noting that students' attitudes toward learning have improved significantly over the past 12 years, with more candidates demonstrating dedication to their studies.

The written examinations will be held on Aug. 10-11, followed by marking from Aug. 13-19. Computerised score processing and verification will take place from Aug. 20-30, while results will be printed on Sept. 1 and officially announced nationwide on Sept. 2.

A total of 151,238 candidates, including 84,735 females, have registered for the examination. Of these, 37,445 candidates (22,193 females) are enrolled in the science stream, while 113,793 candidates (62,542 females) are taking the social science stream.
