Royal Government Plans Support for Eco-Tourism Development at Te Teuk Pus Hot Spring
AKP Phnom Penh, June 03, 2026 --
Following the successful implementation of the Phnom Knang Phsar Green Recreation Project, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet announced that the Royal Government is studying plans to support another eco-tourism community in Kampong Speu province – the Te Teuk Pus Hot Spring area.
Presiding over the graduation ceremony and the inauguration of a three-story building and other achievements at the National Institute of Physical Education and Sports in Phnom Penh on Wednesday, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that an area of approximately 10 hectares is being studied and preserved as a green and nature tourism site before being handed over to the local community for management, following the successful model of the Knang Phsar Tourist Resort.
“The Royal Government will help train community members so they know how to operate, manage, and sustainably benefit from the environment and natural site there,” he underlined.
Te Teuk Pus Hot Spring is the only known natural site in Cambodia featuring naturally heated spring water. It is located in Oral district, approximately 60 kilometres from Chbar Mon, the provincial capital of Kampong Speu.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet called on citizens and tourists to help protect the environment, properly dispose of waste in resort areas, and explore eco-tourism destinations within a 200-kilometre radius of Phnom Penh.
He noted that many natural attractions are located within this radius, including Chreav Waterfall, Oral Mountain, and Trapeang Sangke.
Cambodia currently has a total of 57 tourist resorts and 129 tourism communities.
