3rd Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation to be Held in Malaysia This Year
AKP Phnom Penh, June 04, 2026 --
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will pay an official visit and co-chair the 3rd Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) in Malaysia in 2026, at the invitation of H.E. Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamed Bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
The invitation was extended by H.E. Shaharuddin bin Onn, Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia, to H.E. Prak Sokhonn during their meeting at the Ministry on June 3. H.E. Deputy Prime Minister accepted the invitation with pleasure.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the significant achievements of cooperation in all fields that the two countries have achieved, such as high-level exchange of visits, political cooperation, defence and security, trade and investment, culture and education, tourism, and people to people exchange.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and H.E. Ambassador also highlighted the preparations of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.
The Cambodian top diplomat conveyed his profound gratitude for Malaysia's efforts in facilitating the Cambodia-Thailand border issue and for leading the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in the capacity as ASEAN Chair.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn also expressed confidence in Malaysia's continued contributions to the Cambodia-Thailand border issue. He also provided an update on the current situation of the Cambodia-Thailand border issue to H.E. Ambassador.
