AOT Continues Mission to O’Phlouk Damrei Area to Monitor Border Situation
AKP Phnom Penh, June 06, 2026 -- The Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) on Saturday facilitated a field mission for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission from the Philippines, to observe, verify, and report on the border situation in the O’Phlouk Damrei area of Thmar Da commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province.
According to a press release issued by the Spokeswoman of Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, the visit took place at 11:12 a.m. and aimed to review compliance with and implementation of all measures stipulated in the Joint Statement following the ceasefire.
The Ministry stated that the O’Phlouk Damrei area had been affected by military attacks and remains under illegal occupation by Thai military forces.
Cambodia reiterated that it does not recognise any alteration of the international boundary through the use of force or any unilateral territorial claims by Thailand.
The Royal Government of Cambodia further stressed that activities taking place in the area do not affect the Kingdom’s legal rights or position regarding its international boundaries.
Cambodia called on Thailand to fully, sincerely, and effectively implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC).
Cambodia continues to advocate for resolving the dispute peacefully in accordance with international law and existing treaties and agreements between the two countries.
The RGC reaffirmed that the objective remains restoring mutual trust and promoting lasting peace and stability for future generations.
