Cambodia, Republic of Korea Pledge to Deepen Strategic Partnership

Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have reiterated their commitment to further advancing their Strategic Partnership and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
The commitment was made during a bilateral meeting between H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, and H.E. Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines, on July 23.
During the discussion, the two sides explored ways to deepen cooperation in trade and investment, security, people-to-people exchanges, and the fight against transnational crimes, including online scams.
The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
As 2027 will mark the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea, the Cambodian side expressed its readiness to work closely with the Republic of Korea to organise commemorative activities celebrating the important milestone.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn also briefed his Korean counterpart on the latest developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border situation.
