AKPAKP Phnom Penh, August 2, 2026 -- 

Cambodia's Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and the Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Scholarship Students Association (A.M.T) on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in developing Cambodia's human resources.

The MoU was signed by Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, President of A.M.T Association, and H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, and in the presence of senior government officials, university leaders, scholarship committee members and education personnel at the association's headquarters in Phnom Penh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Pich Chanmony stressed that developing high-quality human capital equipped with knowledge, professional skills, good health and strong ethics requires the active participation of all stakeholders. She noted that investing in proper guidance and 21st-century skills for young people today would help ensure Cambodia's future economic potential and sustainable, inclusive development.

She also praised the Ministry of Education and its leadership for promoting the partnership with the A.M.T Association to enhance youth capacity. Dr. Pich Chanmony expressed appreciation for the Ministry's scholarship programmes since 2008, which have contributed to human capital development in line with the Royal Government's Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1.

She further highlighted the Ministry's support for students from families of frontline veterans through scholarship opportunities, as well as assistance provided to Cambodian students returning from abroad to continue their studies, saying these efforts demonstrate the government's commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Hang Chuon Naron said the partnership would establish the two institutions as strong strategic partners in expanding equitable access to educational opportunities for Cambodian youth and reaffirm their shared commitment to advancing the country's education sector.

Both leaders expressed confidence that the cooperation would serve as a catalyst for nurturing Cambodia's young generation into skilled and capable human resources who will contribute to the nation's long-term development.
