AKP Phnom Penh, August 4, 2026 --

Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Neth Pheaktra has commended the close and fruitful cooperation between the Kingdom's state-owned news agency, Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP), and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

During a farewell and courtesy meeting with Mr. Huynh Van Thao, outgoing Chief of the VNA Phnom Penh Bureau, and Mr. Do Huy Binh, the newly appointed Chief, at the Ministry of Information on Tuesday, H.E. Neth Pheaktra said the partnership between the two news agencies has significantly contributed to strengthening Cambodia-Vietnam bilateral relations and enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples.

While encouraging AKP and VNA to further deepen their collaboration, the Minister suggested that both sides explore new areas of cooperation to further strengthen their partnership.

Mr. Huynh Van Thao briefed the Minister on the activities and achievements of the VNA Phnom Penh Bureau during his tenure, while Mr. Do Huy Binh pledged to further reinforce cooperation between VNA and AKP.

H.E. Neth Pheaktra reaffirmed the Ministry's readiness to provide coordination and support to the new VNA Bureau Chief in carrying out his mission in Cambodia.

Following the meeting, Mr. Do Huy Binh also held talks with H.E. Mrs. Sokmom Nimul, Director General of AKP. The two sides reviewed the longstanding cooperation between the two news agencies in promoting bilateral relations and serving the common interests of Cambodia and Vietnam.

They also agreed to continue expanding cooperation in a wide range of areas, including news exchange, professional experience sharing, and exchange visits.
