Cambodian First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet on Tuesday presided over a ceremony to distribute Health Equity Fund (HEF) cards and relief packages to 1,051 underprivileged families supported by the Cambodian Children's Fund (CCF).

The event, held in Phnom Penh, benefited 4,684 individuals. A total of 559 health cards were issued, comprising 204 new enrollments and 355 renewals.

During the gathering, Dr. Pich Chanmony conveyed personal greetings from Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. She commended the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration, local authorities, and the CCF for their continuous collaboration in aiding vulnerable children and households.

She emphasised that the health protection cards serve to alleviate medical expenditure for low-income families and ensure seamless access to healthcare services, reflecting the Royal Government’s policy to "leave no Cambodian behind."

"Assisting a family extends beyond an individual; it lifts entire communities and unlocks opportunities for children to thrive," she stated.

Holders of the Health Equity Fund card can access subsidised medical treatment at 143 designated public and private healthcare facilities in Phnom Penh, as well as thousands of medical centres nationwide.
