Justice Minister Reaffirms Cambodia’s Unwavering Commitment to Crack Down on Online Scam Crimes
AKP Phnom Penh, August 13, 2026 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice H.E. Koeut Rith reaffirmed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s firm efforts and unwavering commitment to combating online scam crimes during a meeting with Ms. Aleks Zittle, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia, on Wednesday afternoon.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Justice, H.E. Koeut Rith warmly welcomed Ms. Aleks Zittle and her colleagues to the Ministry of Justice and spoke highly of the achievements made through cooperation between the Ministry and the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia.
For her part, Ms. Aleks Zittle commended the good cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the U.S. Embassy, as well as the close cooperation between law enforcement officials of the two countries, particularly in countering the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and online scams.
H.E. Koeut Rith also briefed Ms. Aleks Zittle on the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts and unwavering commitment to crack down on online scam crimes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation between law enforcement officials of the two countries, as well as continuing dialogue and mutual information sharing.
The cooperation is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of efforts to combat online scams, money laundering and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, according to the Ministry of Justice.
