Cambodia, Türkiye Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in Information Sector and Journalist Training

Cambodia and Türkiye have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the information sector, particularly in journalist capacity building, as well as the exchange of experience and knowledge in journalism.
The discussion took place on Aug. 14 at the Embassy of Türkiye in Phnom Penh between H.E. Kao Imran, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Information, and H.E. Mesut Özcan, Ambassador of Türkiye to Cambodia.
During the meeting, both sides focused on expanding cooperation between Cambodia and Türkiye in the information sector, with particular attention to developing journalists’ professional capacity and promoting the exchange of journalism-related experience and knowledge.
In this regard, the two sides discussed an initiative of the Turkish Government to invite two Cambodian journalists, through the Cambodian Ministry of Information, to participate in a professional training course on “War Journalism.”
The training course is expected to be organised soon by the Turkish National Police Academy in cooperation with Türkiye’s Anadolu Agency.
The Turkish ambassador also highlighted several achievements and key activities accomplished under the cooperation framework between the governments of the two countries.
He reaffirmed Türkiye’s attention to continuing to develop cooperation with Cambodia in the information sector, including strengthening the exchange of experience and training between media institutions of the two countries.
Both sides underscored the importance of continuing joint cooperation to explore new areas for bilateral partnership, not only in the information sector but also in other areas of mutual interest, contributing to further strengthening the friendship between Cambodia and Türkiye.
