AKP Phnom Penh, August 4, 2026 -- The Royal Government of Cambodia is stepping up strategic push the country’s industrial transformation from a labour-intensive manufacturing model towards production based on skills and advanced technology.

The remark was made by H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), held a discussion meeting on Aug. 4 executives from automotive wiring harness companies.

The meeting brought together senior CDC officials, representatives of relevant ministries and state institutions, and executives from automotive wiring harness companies operating in the country.

On behalf of the Royal Government, H.E. Sun Chanthol reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and facilitating stakeholders to ensure continued progress in automotive wire harness manufacturing and to create a more favourable environment for further investment.

The Deputy Prime Minister also instructed relevant authorities to work closely with the private sector and address requests raised during the meeting in a timely and effective manner, with the aim of strengthening Cambodia’s competitiveness in regional and global markets.

The meeting reviewed the overall progress of investments in the sector, with companies providing updates on production activities and business operations.

Representatives of wire harness manufacturers expressed appreciation for the direct dialogue with the government, saying the platform would help strengthen cooperation and confidence in Cambodia’s investment climate.
