Cambodian DPM Calls for Citizen-Centric Governance at Good Governance Forum in Siem Reap
AKP Phnom Penh, August 4, 2026 -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service H.E. Hun Many emphasised Tuesday that good governance serves as a strategic framework to bring public services closer to the people and address citizen-centric needs.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Forum on Good Governance in Siem Reap province, H.E. Hun Many highlighted that the initiative aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and innovation across public sectors within ASEAN member states and dialogue partners.
The forum was convened under the framework of the 23rd ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM) and the 8th ACCSM Plus Three Cooperation on Civil Service Matters.
"Civil service endeavours play a crucial role in building a high-standard public administration while expanding regional cooperation," H.E. Hun Many said.
He further stressed the indispensable nature of complementary and mutually beneficial cooperation among ASEAN member states, as well as China, Japan, and South Korea (ASEAN Plus Three).
To effectively navigate modern challenges, H.E. Hun Many urged regional partners to adopt a collaborative, community-driven approach to identify joint solutions, capture opportunities, and drive effective, high-quality, and innovative public sector development.
