The Upper Secondary School Examination (Baccalaureate) for the 2025-2026 academic year kicked off this morning at 244 examination centres across the country.

A total of 151,238 candidates, including 84,735 females, have registered for this year's examination. Of the total, 37,445 candidates, including 22,193 females, are sitting for the science stream, while 113,793 candidates, including 62,542 females, are taking the social science stream.

According to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), approximately 5,000 observers have been deployed to monitor the examination process. They include representatives from the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), local authorities, and volunteers.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MoEYS; H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Civil Service, and President of UYFC; H.E. Khuon Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh; and representatives of the ACU presided over a ceremony to open the examination-subject envelope at Preah Sisowath High School in Phnom Penh this morning.

The written examinations are being held on Aug. 10-11, followed by marking from Aug. 13-19. Computerised score processing and verification will take place from Aug. 20-30, while the results will be printed on Sept. 1 and officially announced nationwide on Sept. 2.

On Aug. 10, science stream candidates are sitting for history, biology, chemistry, and foreign languages, while social science stream candidates are being tested on geology and environment, history, geography, and foreign languages.

On Aug. 11, science stream candidates will sit for Khmer literature, physics, and mathematics, while social science stream candidates will take mathematics, morality and civics, and Khmer literature.

In 2025, a total of 122,473 students, equivalent to 84.56 percent of all candidates who sat for the Grade 12 national examination, passed the Baccalaureate. Among them, 3,003 earned Grade A, 9,901 Grade B, 28,801 Grade C, 45,859 Grade D, and 34,909 Grade E.
