Cambodia, Viet Nam Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation Through Six Key Agreements
AKP Phnom Penh, October 9, 2026--
Cambodia and Viet Nam have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors during a bilateral meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and H.E. Le Minh Hung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
Following the meeting held here at the Peace Palace on Friday afternoon, the two Prime Ministers witnessed the exchange of six important cooperation documents aimed at enhancing collaboration between the two countries in the fields of drug treatment and rehabilitation, education, cultural heritage preservation, security, trade, and economic development.
The six documents signed are as follows:
1. Memorandum of Understanding between the National Authority for Combating Drugs of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam for Cooperation on the Construction of the National Centre for Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation in Svay Rieng.
2. Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on Education Cooperation for 2026-2030.
3. Memorandum of Understanding on the Preservation and Promotion of the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Monument in Cambodia between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
4. Memorandum of Understanding on Security Cooperation between the National Information Technology Centre of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
5. Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Joint Trade Committee between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
6. Arrangement on Bilateral Trade Enhancement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
The agreements and arrangements are expected to provide a framework for closer collaboration in key areas of shared interest, while contributing to stronger bilateral relations and sustainable development in Cambodia and Viet Nam.
